Minutes Walking to the Beach in Old San Juan-Apt.1

This place was ok. It’s definitely a short walk to old San Juan but not to a beach. There is a very small beach across the street but it has lots of glass in the sand and rocks in the water so I don’t recommend swimming there. The fridge did not work as well so all the food I bought for 5 days went bad. There was dead roaches under the couch and in the bathroom. The water is not warm in the shower. I don’t recommend this place if you are staying more than a couple days. It definitely has privacy and it wasn’t hard to find on the map for Uber drivers. I regret not staying at a resort because it comes out the same price.

We had a such a wonderful time and felt super secure with all the government buildings in the area as well as the regular patrols of the police. If you get a chance do stay in this unit.

Had a slight issue with the shower but our host was very helpful and got the issue fixed pretty quickly. Location was great and the Airbnb was beautiful!

Overall the airbnb is as pictured and the location is fine. Old San juan is a 15 minute walk and there are several restaurants within walking distance. The problem we had was that there was roaches waiting for us once we arrived from day activities. Sound travels easily through the walls so our neighbors kept us up several nights. Our host was quick to resolve the issue once we notified them of the problem. There is very little privacy. The restroom is located in front of the dining area and the door has an opaque glass which would display a sexy silhouette if you stood too close to it while getting dressed. The shower didn't have a shower curtain and the shower drain would back up so showering was a wet mess. There was no shower mat so we'd have to mop after each use. Last, the airbnb was was completely bare which does not count against the airbnb but I'm accustomed to having airbnbs cater to the visitor. For example there was one towel per person for a week stay, one set of linen, kitchen but no pots or pans to cook. we purchased beach towels and left them at the airbnb hopefully another visitor can make use of them. It's just didn't offer the hospitality that other airbnb have offered to us on our travels.

Overall, this unit was a great value for the money. It was clean, modern, and comfortable. The location is decent, although if you’re not in good shape you may be bothered by the relatively long walk times in heat/humidity to Old San Juan restaurants and attractions. The biggest issue we had was that the refrigerator wasn’t working, and although they said they’d come by to fix it the day after I notified them, they never came. The place was also lacking some basic items: there were no paper towels, no hand towels, and only 2 bath towels and 1 washcloth per person, for a 5-night reservation.

Great Airbnb! Perfect check in just needed more assistance with getting inside my room but other than that everything was great!
